Join us for a summer of music-making with weekly private lessons, music workshops and masterclasses, and an intensive camp session July 20-25 with faculty and special guests!

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to write a song. Maybe you want to record a pop album. Or maybe you have a collaboration to share with your friends. Whatever it is, you will tell the story online and dream BIG.

Practice.

You draw the craft in and hone your skills. Its not perfect so you try again. And again. Until you can make it sound better than you dreamed. Then you are ready to record your dreams and make a product you are proud of.

Create.

After working so hard on this dream of yours you get to produce it into something, utilizing the technology you have at your fingertips, and the guidance from the fine instructors at our online camp. Achieve greatness in a single week!

Dennis Shafer, Director: Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute

Dennis has a passion for music instills this in his students. Dennis has over 15 years experience teaching all ages and styles of music, and holds degrees at Longy of Bard College, Boulogne Conservatory (France), The Boston Conservatory, and Brooklyn College. He feels it is important to organize performances for his students. His students have performed in many venues from Harvard Square to Carnegie Hall.

Allison Damon, Teaching Artist: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba

Allison finds great joy in helping her students learn music they are excited about! She holds degrees from the Longy School of Music and Seattle Pacific University and has taught a variety of brass students- from beginners who want to learn “Baby Shark” to advanced high school students playing in indie rock bands and preparing for auditions. She is excited to guide you in your journey of musical self-discovery.

Trisha Craig, Teaching Artist: flute, entrepreneurship

Trisha Craig believes that anyone can learn and loves to bring out the best in all of her students! She has been teaching, coaching, and conducting musicians of all ages for over thirty years. She enjoys exposing students and audiences to modern styles and techniques, and her enthusiasm is infectious. Trisha holds music degrees from Ithaca College and Longy School of Music, and her students have won awards at the local, regional, and national levels.

Jessie Chiu, Teaching Artist: Violin, Viola, Piano, Arranging, Computer Technology

Jessie makes learning the piano and violin so much fun! She works with all ages of players, and can teach all styles. She has classical training from the University of Taipei, and jazz training from Berklee - the best of both worlds! She performs in Indie Rock bands and world music, has performed with Jacob Collier, and has studied with cello virtuoso Eugene Friesen.

Peter Tentindo, Teaching Artist: Guitar, Piano

Peter Tentindo is a professional guitarist, vocalist, keyboardist, and recording artist from the Boston area. He loves performing, writing, producing, and teaching music. Performance credits include opening for the Jacksons on their 50th Anniversary Tour, Alice Cooper, Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath), Queensryche and backing up Billy Gilman of NBC's The Voice . Peter teaches guitar, keyboards, ukulele, and music theory to all students interested in learning.

The details…

-When possible, parts of this program may take place at our physical space on Artists’ Row in Salem. For now, completely online.

-Weekly lessons will be scheduled individually with each instructor per the schedule of both the student and the teacher.

TUITION: $790 ($525 option without Intensive week) includes:

-Weekly private, one-on-one lessons with a faculty member.

-Weekly Wednesday afternoon Webinar featuring special guests leading workshops and masterclasses. Students will be asked to share their work with the group that they have been preparing in lessons and practice.

-Additional assistance and coaching via email and chat for online projects, giving full support to students on artistic goals.

-Summer Intensive (July 20-25): special week of workshops and lessons (see sample schedule above) from 9:00AM to 3:30PM daily. Will include small group activities, monitored practice, chamber music techniques, coaching, seminars from special guests, performances from students and faculty, masterclasses, workshops, and more!
